WinDirStat

It's a neat program that shows the detail of every single directories (like sizes, number of items/files/subdirs, date and time of last change, percentage etc). These data can be shown in a treemap or even a analytical picture. It is helpful for organizing tons of files and directories in an efficient and easy way.

BeoPlayer

Beoplayer has an unique interface, which is pretty cool but it could takes time to get used to it. It is well-known for the quality of voice/sound outputting. The installation file is quite large - almost 28MB. Maybe it can be my excuse for not using this powerful guy and stick with my Foobar alien.

Universal Extractor

Universal Extractor is a program do to exactly what it says: extract files from any type of archive, whether it's a simple zip file, an installation program, or even a Windows Installer (.msi) package. This is still a work in progress (see details below), but so far it's proven quite useful and I feel others can also benefit from it.

DupKiller

DupKiller is for searching and removing duplicate or similar files on your computer. Complicated algorithms, built in its searching mechanism, perform high results — rapid file search. A lot of options allow to flexibly customizing the search.

The program will find unneeded copies of files in those locations where you even would not consider to search. There is comparison not only by name, last modification date or size. One can compare files by their contents, and what's more, to set what per cent they must match; one can search different-length files, include or exclude files by mask, etc.

gmms: an MMS-stream downloader

gmms is a simple MMS-stream downloader based on mmsclient that works on both Windows® and Linux. MMS-streams are multimedia streams broadcasted on the Internet, following the MMS-protocol. The simple explanation is that with gmms, you can save every kind of stream having mms:// at the start of the download URL to your hard-disk. The stream can be and audio or video stream, as long as it's URL starts with mms://.

imgburn

ImgBurn carries on from where DVD Decrypter left off! (Well, for the burning part anyway!)

ImgBurn can write most types of CD / DVD images and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use ImgBurn to erase / format your rewritable media!

ImgBurn burn your DVD-Video double layer images using the layer break you've specified in the IFO files, but it can also calculate the best place for you, to save you the trouble.

Recuva (File Recovery)

Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

DAEMON Tools is a virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator and is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today.

The application mounts ISO images to a virtual drive without having to burn them to a CD.

It is further development of Generic Safedisc emulator and incorporates all its features. This program allows running Backup Copies of SafeDisc (C-Dilla), Securom, Laserlock, CDCOPS, StarForce and Protect CD (and many others) protected games. Also included is a Virtual DVDROM drive (Generic DVD-ROM) enabling you to use your CD images as if they were already burned to CD! Gimp

The GIMP is a multiplatform photo manipulation tool. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. The GIMP is suitable for a variety of image manipulation tasks, including photo retouching, image composition, and image construction.

Stellarium

Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.
It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go.

Nirsoft FileDate Changer

The FileDate Changer utility allows you to easily change the Created/Modified/Accessed dates of one or more files. You can use this utility in all 32-bit Operating systems (Windows 95,98,ME,NT,2000,XP) with Internet Explorer version 3.0 or above.

I use this to modify the access date of folders or files, in order to have them compressed by cleanmgr.
